Bikes & Components
At LIOS, we stand behind the quality of our bikes and components. Our warranty provides protection against manufacturing defects, alongside your statutory consumer rights.
LIOS Bikes Ltd provides a lifetime warranty to the original owner against structural defects in materials or workmanship on all LIOS carbon and titanium frames, LIOS forks and LIOS carbon rims. “Lifetime” means the period during which the original owner owns the product. This warranty applies worldwide from the date of original purchase and cannot be transferred to subsequent owners.
The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects. It does not mean that a product cannot be damaged, wear out or reach the end of its useful service life.
Components made by other manufacturers are subject to their respective manufacturer’s warranty terms. Please contact LIOS if you experience a problem with any component supplied by us. A manufacturer’s warranty does not replace or restrict your statutory rights against LIOS as the retailer.
The warranty provider is LIOS Bikes Ltd, Unit 8 - Invincible Building, Daedalus Park, Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire, PO13 9FX. You can contact us at mail@liosbikes.com.
No-Fault Replacement
If your LIOS frame, fork or carbon rim is damaged in an accident or another incident outside the warranty, we offer replacement products to the original owner at a reduced charge for as long as they own the original product.
Please contact us with your purchase details, photographs and a description of the damage. We will assess the product and explain the replacement options and costs before you decide whether to proceed. The price will depend on the product and the replacement required. Where the original model is no longer available, we will discuss a suitable alternative.
This is a paid replacement scheme, not insurance or free cover for accidental damage. Any labour, transport, additional components or custom finishing required will be quoted separately and agreed before work proceeds.
This Warranty Does NOT Cover
This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear or damage caused by accidents, crashes, impacts, neglect, misuse, improper maintenance, incorrect assembly or adjustment, unsuitable components, unauthorised modifications or use outside the product’s intended purpose. Damage caused by commercial use is also excluded.
Cosmetic damage and custom paint or finish matching are not included in the structural warranty. This does not affect your statutory rights if a finish supplied by LIOS is faulty.
Work carried out by another mechanic, or the use of parts supplied elsewhere, does not automatically invalidate this warranty. However, damage caused by incorrect work or unsuitable parts is excluded. Assembly, servicing and adjustments must follow the relevant manufacturer’s instructions, including torque settings.
Participation in competition or riding on trails does not, by itself, invalidate this warranty where that activity is within the intended use of the particular product. Damage caused by crashes, excessive loading or use beyond the product’s intended capabilities remains excluded.
Labour and transport costs are not included under this additional lifetime warranty unless agreed otherwise. Where you are entitled to a repair or replacement under your statutory consumer rights, LIOS will meet the necessary costs, including labour, materials and reasonable postage or transport. Any charges payable by you will be explained and agreed in advance.
Useful Product Life Cycle
Every bicycle frame, fork and component has a finite useful service life. This depends on its design, materials, frequency and intensity of use, riding conditions, maintenance and any damage sustained. A lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects is not a guarantee that a product will last indefinitely.
Wear, fatigue or deterioration resulting from use may mean that a product needs to be replaced. We will assess the cause of any reported failure rather than exclude a claim solely because of the product’s age.
Check your bike regularly and have it inspected periodically by a suitably qualified bicycle mechanic. More frequent inspections may be appropriate after intensive use or riding in demanding conditions.
Stop riding and seek advice if you notice cracks, dents, deformation, unusual movement or noises, corrosion or changes in the paint or finish that could indicate underlying damage. Following a crash or significant impact, have the bike assessed before riding again, even if no damage is visible.
Your Statutory Rights & Warranty Remedies
This warranty is additional to your statutory consumer rights and does not affect them. Those rights include receiving goods that are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.
For a valid claim under this additional warranty, LIOS will repair the defective product or replace it with a new product of equal or greater value. A replacement may differ in model, colour or finish if the original is no longer available. We will explain the proposed remedy before proceeding.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These terms do not restrict any remedy available under applicable consumer law.
Procedures
Please contact mail@liosbikes.com before returning a product or arranging repairs. Provide a description of the problem, photographs where possible and reasonable proof of purchase. An invoice, receipt or another record that allows us to verify the purchase is acceptable.
We may need to inspect the product in person or arrange assessment by a specialist. We will explain what needs to be returned and agree whether this should be the complete bike, frame or affected component. We will also explain the transport arrangements and any potential costs before you send it.
Please package any returned product securely and follow the return instructions we provide. Do not arrange repairs to the affected area before we have had a reasonable opportunity to assess the claim.
Warranty repairs will be carried out by LIOS or a specialist appointed by us. We will keep you informed of the assessment, proposed remedy and expected timescale. Repairs or replacements required under your statutory consumer rights will be completed within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience.
If a claim is not covered, we will explain why and discuss any available repair or replacement options. No chargeable work will proceed without your agreement.
