“I bought a LIOS Bullet Disc (SRAM Force eTap and LIOS CD35 carbon wheels) at the start of the summer to replace my Canyon that I had been riding for a number of years.
It’s an absolutely superb bike and really helped by getting a fitting for it from Steve – the ride is very smooth and I am noticeably quicker on various Strava segments than before.
It’s also a great looking bike and not a common sight on the roads. My frame is bike number 99 and so far I’ve only seen one other while out riding.

Had my first bike fit with Steve a while ago and learned so much about myself, my flexibility and alignment etc - so much more in depth than I was expecting and the adjustments to the bike itself felt great afterwards too. I didn’t have any actual problems or discomfort beforehand, but I was about to start training for Ironman so would be doing a lot more cycling and I had just got cleats for the first time so I wanted to ensure they were fitted as well as possible to avoid potential issues and injuries. Little did I know how much better it could feel and how much more power I could access especially uphill with the bike properly fitted to me! Getting a Retül bike fit with LIOS was the best thing I could have done even though I thought I was happy and comfortable enough on my bike beforehand. Definitely excellent value for money. I just went back to LIOS yesterday (to their amazing new premises!) to have a different saddle fitted. It was great that Steve could look back on the data from my previous bike fit, especially for the saddle height and where I fell within the ideal angle range before, to help inform adjustments this time round. Steve answered all my questions and explained everything he was doing. He has even marked up my old saddle for me so I can take it away on training camp next week and put it back on myself if I find the new one really isn’t working for me, and told me to come back in a couple of weeks for a check and any fine tuning. He also helped me out with several other things while I was there which he didn’t need to do. Can’t recommend these guys highly enough. Just wish I could justify getting them to build me a new bike having seen and read about them - one day...!”

"Two months on from my bike fit with Steve and my cycling has been transformed! Ok, I'm still no Chris Froome and never will be, but I can at least ride with no lower back pain and enjoy the riding, which enables me to ride further and harder than before. As recommended, I've swapped the laid-back seat post for an inline version to compensate for my biomechanics and, in conjunction with the adjustments Steve made, my cycling is so much better. At the very least, the lack of both riding pain and post-ride pain has made the whole exercise worthwhile and extremely good value for money (compared to the ongoing cost of a physio, chiropractor and painkillers!). I've recommended to my colleagues that they all get a professional fit. Why spend thousands or more on a bike and then punish yourself by not getting fitted properly?! It's like buying a car and not moving the seat or rearview mirror..."

“A few months on now and I can definitely say the fit’s been great. Since Outlaw Half I’ve racked up two 100 mile rides and then last week did a charity cycle challenge with work between our three sites - 200km from Newport to Titchfield on Day 1 and 128km from Titchfield to London on Day 2. With only a slightly achy back towards the end of Day 1, which didn’t appear on Day 2, I’d say the bike fit has to be great, so a big thank you. “I was looking to upgrade from my entry level TT bike and I approached Steve having done a significant amount of research on what to buy. The service that Steve provided from consultation to delivery has been absolutely first class. Steve's initial advice over the phone on the procedure was extremely clear and cemented my desire to buy a LIOS bike. My bike fit with Steve was extremely comprehensive and Steve's patience with me as we adjusted the fit, re-adjusted the fit, and in some cases went back to where we started was first class. This all paid dividends when I collected my Javelin, as the final fitting was swift and the bike was built to meet my needs in every way. How good is it? Well, with my new Javelin, I have since smashed all my PBs for 10, 25 and 50 mile Time Trials with expectation of much more to come. “Update: July 22 - I completed my challenge of the Tour Divide race in sub 25days. 2650miles in 24days 7 hours. Self supported off road race.
Thank you to Steve for his OCD approach to bike fitting that made it possible. Many people scratched from the race with knee / neck / foot issues but I can safely say I didn't have a single niggle at all.
I very rarely write reviews but in this instance will make an exception.
I discovered LIOS bikes when searching for a highly recommended bike fitting service on the South Coast.
Needless to say I was not disappointed. Steve seriously knows what he is doing, complemented by the best high end facilities. He was able to tailor my bike fit for a 2800mile ultra endurance ride across Canada, through the USA and into Mexico.
Whether its a bike fit, servicing or sales LIOS know their stuff and everything is done with the upmost attention to detail. Sometimes it's the small things that show you they know they care and are passionate about bikes through and through... Like their mtb show bikes having the tyre logos and valves lined up...if you know the "rules" you know.
Have recommended LIOS to my friends already who have also started to use them for bike fits etc.

“Just wanted to update you on how the new position is going and thank you for the fit. After riding in the new position for a couple of weeks, I’ve got used to the change in position and am definitely happy with it! It’s been comfortable for all the rides I’ve done so far, longest being 90km, and I’m definitely able to maintain a higher power over the longer durations. I can’t verify this, but the position feels faster, with the better body position and further forward arms. Really glad to have got the bike fit done and looking forward to putting it to use when I’m racing again.”

"After having a bike fit with Steve I realised just how badly my bike was set up for me! After a few adjustments it became evident I was too stretched out on the bike. Steve recommended a shorter stem with greater angle and an inline seat post, which has made a huge difference to my riding. "You don't need to be an elite cyclist to feel the benefit of a bike fitting. I opted for one to improve my body position and use the age old ethos of prevention is better than cure. I didn't want to develop injuries ahead of a big year or cycling. From the start Steve was excellent. The pre-appointment prep sheet and info really got me excited. “My previous Cannondale CAAD 12 is a good bike, but not a patch on the LIOS Bullet; my first proper ride felt like getting into a Porsche GT after driving a people carrier. The SRAM system is excellent, the frame is responsive and absorbs far more road bumps, the wheels seem to glide with little rolling resistance and the hydraulic disk brakes stop you very quickly. Overall, an excellent bike and I only wish I'd bought one sooner.”

Why did I choose LIOS? I am sure like many of us we so much respect and admiration for those who have served in the armed forces. I think reading Steve’s story about how LIOS all started got me hooked.
Well not knowing what to expect at a bike fit and if I’m honest I was a little apprehensive.
The bike fit was great Steve knows his stuff that’s for sure. The total time was about 2 hours. I had the saddled lowered in increments of 5mm to 15mm in total and the saddle moved forward by the same increments to 25mm in total. Next was the front end raised by 15mm. The difference in smoothness when pedalling was very noticeable and I noticed that my shoulders, neck and arms were more relaxed.
Well last weekend I completed Ride London Essex 100 in 5 hours 24 minutes. I had no lower back, neck, arms or shoulder pains which I know was based on the changes during my bike fit. Big thank you to Steve.”
